The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Review by Cameron McGill

Hello reader, today I, Cameron McGill will be reviewing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire  is the second book in the Hunger Games Series and continues to follow the story of Katniss Everdeen almost a year after the events of the first book. But before I launch into the full review, I would like to quickly mention that there will be spoilers in this review for both this book and the first book so as usual if you don't want the plot ruined stop reading or toughen up and learn to face your problems head on. Your choice. As I said earlier, the book starts off a little under a year after where the first novel left off with Katniss still recovering from the trauma of the last hunger games in the victor's village. Shortly after the novel begins, it is announced that Katniss and other victors from previous years will compete again in the 75th Hunger Games. This is the first part of the novel where we start to see a lot of repetition and the first ten cha...

The Hanging Girl Written by Eileen Cook Review by Emily Shunk Skye dreams of moving to New York with her best friend. She's told Drew before that she can go. She'll scrap together enough money from her job as a fake psychic to move to New York City. When it's coming down to it, Skye doesn't have anywhere close to the amount of money she needs. She lived on the bad side of town, where there are McDonald's instead of Panera's, and gas stations instead of supermarkets. She nervously engages in a plan... one which if she fails could get her thrown in jail and she'd never get to move to new York with her best friend from childhood.  With seemingly no warning, golden-girl Paige is kidnapped. There's little evidence, and the police can't seem to find her. With plenty of pressure to perform, Skye goes to the police to tell them she can help them find Paige. With a made up vision, plenty of lies, and all her hopes and dreams, she has to keep ...

Eldest the sequel of Eragon

Hello, I am Charlie Hechler and I will be reviewing the first part of the book  Eldest the sequel to  Eragon,  the book that I had reviewed last week. Before you read further know that there will be many spoilers ahead. The book starts off from the traumatic battle against the shade Durza, an evil sorcerer controlled by demonic spirits. Eragon's mind had been broken apart during the fight as the memories of Durza had entered his mind. His memories had interspersed through Eragon's and Eragon even had been knocked out for days on end, unresponsive. Immediately after Eragon was well enough to function and walk around he was faced with another problem. Ajihad, the leader of the Varden, the nation dedicated to taking down Galbatorix, the evil King of Alagaesia, was killed by a team of Urgals. Ajihad being killed caused a need for a new leader. The Council of Elders are the ones to determine the new king or queen of the Varden. However, the power-hungry leaders of the coun...

The Hunger Games Review by Cameron McGill

Hello reader, today I am going to be reviewing the Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins in 2008. Before I begin, this review will have a few spoilers regarding the book's plot but the spoilers will be minimal and they shouldn't be enough to ruin the book. Now that I have warned you, let's start the review. The Hunger Games is a book about a girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in the continent of Panem with her mother and sister. Every year, the leaders of Panem or "the capitol" choose twenty four people to fight to the death in an arena filled with an artifical landscape. Katniss is chosen to compete in the games and immediately begins preparing for the games with a series of interviews and training sessions When the games begin Katniss struggles to fight off wildlife, hunger, thirst, and other contestants. I would say more about the book's plot but all of it is really good and I want to ruin as few scenes as possible I give this book a 9.5/10 because i...
